Aspired to be a Researcher, Thinker, and Maker with an Educational Background in the Liberal Arts

Growing up, I often asked myself, “What if?” and “Why not?” My “what ifs” stem from an innate curiosity, while my “why-nots” push me to challenge assumptions once taken for granted.

That mindset continues to guide me to walk the path in my life. I strive to think like both a generalist and a specialist, expanding my breadth of knowledge while deepening my expertise.

I am pursuing a self-directed learning plan while building an academic portfolio to reapply for undergraduate admission. After earning an associate’s degree in Art History for Transfer in 2016, I received the Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship to attend a liberal arts college, but my education was later interrupted. Before returning to complete my bachelor’s, I am rebuilding my intellectual foundations deliberately through independent study and learning. I focus on philosophy, writing, and social inquiry, particularly how ideas can travel across politics, policy, art, architecture, and design while maintaining intellectual rigor.

Meanwhile, I am pursuing a second associate’s degree in Adventure Education and Outdoor Leadership. It may seem like an unusual companion to my previous studies, but outdoor and experiential education has pushed me to learn through embodied practice, uncertainty, risk, cooperation, and direct engagement with the real world. I am interested in what different modes of learning can teach one another.
